Ernest Borgnine performs the title character, a lonely middle-aged butcher from the Bronx dwelling at dwelling along with his well-meaning however smothering mom. When his mom convinces him to exit dancing on the Stardust Ballroom, he meets a slightly plain trainer, Clara, who can also be middle-aged and single. After just a few dances, they hit it off, however when she meets his mom and his slacker associates, they’re nasty and hostile, and Marty does not return her telephone name. However lastly, at a bar along with his associates, realizes he must dwell for himself, and rekindles the romance.
